Scarborough-based pantomime company Qdos have recruited John Barrowman to their seasonal line-up.

The showman, who played the Open Air Theatre, last month will join the Krankies in a production of Jack and the Beanstalk in Glasgow.

Barrowman and the comedy duo husband and wife have previously teamed up for Aladdin and Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates at the Clyde Auditorium.

The use of 3D special effects in the previous Qdos Entertainment pantomimes have been so popular with audiences that Jack and the Beanstalk will feature a 3D enchanted forest and journey through the giant’s castle.

“We are thrilled that John, Ian and Janette are returning to Glasgow, where they have received huge audience acclaim, for their third pantomime,” said Michael Harrison, managing director of Qdos Entertainment’s pantomime division.

Other stars included in the Qdos seasonal stable this year include Christoper Biggins, Joe Pasquale and Lynda Bellingham. Lesley Joseph and Brian Conley are in Birmingham and The Chuckle Brothers are in Hull.
