Culture vultures have been out in force for Scarborough’s annual celebration of the arts, Coastival.

Over 60 events are taking place across the town, with an eclectic festival programme featuring light shows, music, art exhibitions and music workshops.

Headlining the day long festival is 80s pop icon Boy George. The former Culture Club frontman will take to the decks for a DJ set at the Spa from 10pm this evening (Saturday February 16).

Throughout the day, there have been drop-in workshops all over Scarborough, including a drum workshop at the Spa, and a painting demonstration at Ken Wood’s South Street Gallery.

Highlights later today include a screening of the Duncan Jones’ cult sci-fi film ‘Moon’, at Hull University’s Scarborough Campus, at 6pm.
