FOOD lovers from across the county are being invited to see how five Scarborough businesses fare at this year’s Deliciouslyorkshire Awards.

The seventh annual awards are being held at Rudding Park in Harrogate, on November 14.

Five businesses from the area join more than 70 across the county as finalists. They are Stuarts Foods, Trotters Farm Shop, 17 Burgate, Cedarbarn Farmshop and Whitby Seafish.

Cath Clelland, chair of deliciouslyorkshire, said: “Our awards celebrate the very best of Yorkshire produce, and the oven gloves are truly off this year as the judges have laboured over the high quality of entrants.

“However, it is the consumer who is the ultimate judge as they are the ones bringing these fabulous products into their kitchen and sitting down to dine in our region’s eclectic establishments. It is wonderful that the people of Yorkshire support these local businesses and I offer an extended invitation to all to join us in applauding their efforts.”

The glittering awards ceremony will be compered by BBC Radio 2’s resident foodie Nigel Barden and Hambleton Ales owner Nick Stafford, who is also a non exec director of deliciouslyorkshire.
