ONE of Scarborough’s most popular Italian restaurants has topped off the year with its 25th anniversary celebration.
Florios has shared a fair slice of Italian life with Scarborough diners since 1986 and to mark the occasion staff held a family and friends’ gathering at the pizzeria in Aberdeen Walk.
Restaurant owner Antonio Floris said: “It went very well and we had a very good response on Facebook with loads of people wishing us the best.
“We are very happy for the constant support from Scarborough.
“To be here 25 years I can’t believe it, the time has gone flying by. I think I’m going another 25 years but after that I’ll retire!”
Antonio, who hails from Sardinia, said the success was down to the team’s attitude and the family tradition.
He added: “We do this with passion; I started cooking when I was seven, my mum is a chef, my brothers, cousins and nephews are in the restaurant business - it’s in the genes.”
