THOUSANDS of people are expected to descend on the Pickering Traction Engine Rally over the weekend.
The perennial crowd-puller, the largest event of its kind in the north of England, kicked off on Thursday at Pickering Showground and features hundreds of vintage machines including traction engines, classic cars and motorbikes, steam rollers, steam lorries as well as steam threshing and ploughing demonstrations.
Music-wise, organisers say there is more on offer than ever before with Grammy-nominated Miles Gilderdale, Hazel O’Connor and Bruce Foxton from The Jam all taking to the stage today.
For the younger rally visitors there are several white knuckle rides, a fun fair and entertainment from magicians, big wheel, bouncy castles, climbing walls, quad bike rides and much more.
Doors open today from 9am to 11pm and Sunday from 9am to 5pm.
