Picturesque is planning an exhibition called Spring Tide, looking at maritime Scarborough past, present and future, and wants your contributions.

“We would like to invite Scarborough artists, both professional and amateur to submit original works with a local maritime theme for inclusion,” said Deborah Kynman from the gallery in St John’s Road, Scarborough. “Space is limited, so some selection will be necessary”, she said, “But we are particularly keen to hear from any artists from the old town fishing/maritime community.

“We will also be holding a fundraising preview evening, with all proceeds going to support the fantastic Maritime Heritage Centre.”

The centre is in Eastborough and celebrates the town’s fishing and seafaring past.

Anyone interested in having their work included in the Picturesque exhibition in April shoiuld contact Deborah
