James returns to his roots at the YMCA

Scarborough’s James Aconley will be returning to his roots at the YMCA Theatre with his 2013 tour Simply Musicals in Concert.

The show promises an evening celebrating the finest and best- loved songs from the West End stage and the bright lights of Broadway.

Director James said: “I’ve been producing shows since 2009, starting at Scarborough’s YMCA Theatre to packed houses.”

Simply Musicals will be at the St Thomas Street theatre on Thursday April 11 and Friday April 12, daily at 7.30pm.

“I’m really excited to be returning to the YMCA, an organisation which really helped me to kick start my career. It’ll be a very special show as the YMCA holds lots of great memories for me.

Appearing with James will be Rebekah Kelly, Olivia Burke and Nathan Jenkins.

Young performers from Scarborough Dance Centre will join the cast of the Thursday evening and the YMCA Spotlight Choir will be performing as special guests in a selection of songs from Josephand the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on the Friday.

Also featured are show-stopping songs from A Chorus Line, Singing in the Rain, Cats, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, ‘Jesus Christ Superstar and Jekyll and Hyde.
