James takes musical show on the road

Scarborough entertainer James Aconley – with a little help from his friends – is back on the road with his Simply Musicals show.

Next stop for James, Katie Gregson and Rebekah Kelly is Helmsley Arts Centre on Friday August 24 at 7.30pm.

“We’re really excited to come to Helmsley, a town where we have never performed before, to bring this music into new areas of the county,” said James.

The show provides two hours of the musical classics as well as a selection from some of the latest shows such as Dreamboats and Petticoats, Spamalot and Wicked.

During the evening you will hear songs musicals such as Cats, Les Miserables, Chess, A Chorus Line, Phantom of The Opera, and Jekyll and Hyde.

“For the past three years, we have been producing and directing musical theatre shows in Scarborough to packed audiences, with a standing ovation every night,” said James.

“This year, we have brought together some of the finest voices to sing some of the greatest musical theatre songs in a North Yorkshire tour throughout summer and autumn,” he said.

The trio can also be seen at the free shows at the Open Air Theatre in Scarborough. James is joined by Katie and Rebekah on the stage in Northstead Manor Gardens each Monday and Thursday from 2pm. There are aslo family shows each Tuesday and Wednesday at 2pm.
