STUDENTS from a Scarborough school were on song to scoop a music award!
The Year Nine pupils from Graham School’s band celebrated glory at the Eskdale Festival after an impressive performance of Grease songs.
The youngsters played a medley of hits from the famous show and also wowed judges with a blues number.
They were given a top score by judges of 85 out of 100, who said they were “a spirited and enthusiastic young group of students.”
However, there was further success after the school’s choir picked up second place in the Year Nine and under choral singing contest.
They impressed with renditions of California Dreaming and True Colours to score 83 out of 100.
Julie Harrison, music teacher the school, added: “All of the pupils were very mature in their conduct.
“They had practised very hard for the performance and its lovely to see their hard work recognised.”
