Saxophonist Sam Thornton makes his debut appearance at Scarborough Jazz Club, at The Cask, on Wednesday October 30.
He is a very busy musician who has played with Sean Hollis, Jim Corry, Stuart MacDonald and Simon Kaylor among others.
Sam comes to the club soon after his appearance at this year’s Scarborough Jazz Festival with the Al Wood Nine.
He has also played the Chapel Allerton Jazz Festival and Wakefield Jazz Club, to name only two of the many venues he has appeared at.
He plays all the saxes and is in a jump band called Louis, Louis, Louis, named after Armstrong, Jordan and Prima.
Backing Sam is the Mike Gordon Trio The jazz begins at 8.45pm and admission is a £3.
Coming up at the club in the next few weeks are saxophonist Mark Ellis on November 6 and Rob McGrath and Thom Whitworth on November 16.
Saxophinist Jim Corry is at the Cask on November 20 and Trio North with John Ehtridge are at the venue on November 27.
