One of the liveliest and most talented saxophonists Stuart MacDonald plays for Scarborough Jazz at the Cask on Wednesday December 10.

Stuart has been involved in many exciting projects in recent years.

He is still involved in the innovative Tribute to Atlantic Jazz venture and plays regularly with Al Wood, Alan Barnes and Russell Vandenburg.

He has also appeared at Scarborough Jazz with the Heavy Horns and with the Bourbon Tequila Salsa Jazz Band.

He has supported some of the star names in jazz, for example, Peter King, Gerard Presencer, Jean Toussaint, Tommy Smith and Carla Bley. Stuart has appeared several times at the Scarborough Jazz Festival.

Stuart plays the entire sax family down to the giant bass saxophone, though he is more likely to bring soprano and tenor for this event.

Fans can expect the usual mixture of swing, bop and lyrical jazz standards.

Stuart will be backed by the resident Mike Gordon Trio.

Admission is £4 and the music starts at 8.45pm
