Scarborough library afternoon concert series revealed

The new series of Thursday lunchtime concerts at Scarborough Library in Vernon Road start next month.

The autumn-winter programme:

October 6 – Frank James (piano) in concert.

October 13 – Ione Cumming (soprano) with Frank James (piano).

October20 –Michelle Rothery (soprano) and Frank James (piano).

October 27 – Around the World in 60 Minutes with Phillip Mindenhall (violin), Frank James (piano) and Maria Billington (Polynesian Dancing).

November 3 – Organist Howard Beaumont with vocalist Roger Maughan and bass Bob Malinowsky.

November 10 – Mike Leigh (bass) with Frank James (piano).

November 17 – The Verdi Story with Michelle Rothery (soprano), Phillip Mindenhall (violin), Frank James (piano) and Maria Billington (narrator).

November 24 – Great Divas of our Time with Ione Cumming (soprano), Frank James (piano) and Maria Billington (narrator).

December 1 – The Lives and Music of Cole Porter and Irving Berlin with violinist Phillip Mindenhall, pianist Frank James and narrator Maria Billington.

December 8 – Festive Concert with florist Bernadette, violinist Phillip Mindenhall and pianist Frank James with a concert of seasonal entertainment.

December 15 – The Jacqueline du Pré Story with Clare Little (cello), Frank James (piano) and Maria Billington (narrator).

Concerts start at 12.30pm. Entry by donation on door.
