Unique Unfurl play Scarborugh Jazz Club

A group with a unique sound has been booked to appear for Scarborough Jazz at the Cask in the town on Wednesday January 14.

Unfurl’s music crosses continents, combining Indian ragas, flamenco and Arabic music with improvisation to create an original sound.

Violinist Olivia Moore is the quintet’s leader and the inspiration behind Unfurl. She is an experienced performer who brings her energy and sensitivity to the band.

Adam Warne has played drums and percussion for more than 25 years. He mainly plays his speciality of Egyptian percussion with the riq and darbouka.John Ball has performed Indian music for 10 years playing the tabla and the 100 stringed santoor.

Guitarist Jim Faulkner has extensive experience of performing modern jazz.

Gavin Barras is one of the most in-demand bass players and is a new addition to the band.

Tickets to hear them cost £7 and are available from Record Revivals on Northway, the Bookshelf in Victoria Road and The Cask itself.

The performance begins at 8.45pm.
