It’s attracted over 100 ‘likes’ on the video-sharing website, and web surfers have said the video’s left them feeling ‘proud to be from Scarborough’.

The trio behind it are Tony Viney, Mike Lynskey and Scarborough-born record producer Ollie Green.

Mr Viney said that the work was just “three mates messing around” - but is stunned by the reaction it’s had.

“I think it just shows how proud people in Scarborough are of their town,” said Mr Viney, who said that the video was a side-project to the work they do on Scarborough’s Open Air Theatre,

“It’s just a bit of fun, but we just wanted to show how good Scarborough is.”

The lyrics were penned by Mr Viney, with Mr Green, a record producer who has worked with One Direction and Lady Gaga, coming up with the tune.

And users posting on the comments section of the video have given the tune a resounding thumbs up.

One said: “I don’t even live in Scarborough but I want to now.

“Amazing job.”

And another added: “Such a positive song that makes people who lives in Scarborough really proud to be a Scarborian!”
