Scarborough Jazz at the Cask present the pairing of vocalist Jenny Smith and saxophonist Jim Corry on Wednesday August 9.
Jenny is a professional vocalist who presents a varied set of stylish ballads, hard swing and Latin American influenced jazz.
She graduated from Leeds College of Music, winning the prize for Jazz and Popular singing. She was also nominated Vocalist of the Year by Jazz Yorkshire.
She is a member of the 1940s style vocal trio The Honeybirds, and she leads her own quintet which recorded her debut album Love Holds Strong. This featured saxophonist Jim Corry.
Jim is a much travelled musician who has played with some of the biggest names in popular music including Jamiroquai, Duran Duran, and Corinne Bailey Rae.
More familiar to us through his playing with the Heavy Horns and aTribute to Atlantic Jazz, Jim is also a regular soloist at the Cask.
For this gig, Peter Elsdon will be the pianist with the backing trio.
Admission is £5 and the music starts at 8.45pm.
