Young musicians play the Spa

Christmas cheer comes from members of Scarborough Area Music Centre at their gala concert at the Spa on Saturday December 14 at 7pm

Special guests are Graham Quilter, of the Scarborough Spa Orchestra and the choirs of Filey, George Pindar, and Lady Lumley’s schools.

Graham will be playing with his twin sons Ben and Adam.

Jan Corrie, press officer for the music centre, whch meets at the SxithForm College in Scarborough, said: ‘Our young musicians always look forward to performing in this concert.

“It is a wonderful experience for them to play in such a prestigious building, and we hope everyone will come along to hear just how talented they really are.”

Tickets are available to purchase in advance from Scarborough Music, Aberdeen Walk, Scarborough or on the door.

The Scarborough Area Music Centre meets each Saturdya during term time with musicians coming from Scarborough and Ryedale to take part.

Scarborough Concert Band and the Y-Musical Theatre Choir will be performing a carol concert St Mary’s Church, Castle Road, Scarborough, on Sunday December 15 at 2.30pm.

Proceeds to the Rainbow Centre.

There is no admission fee but there will be a plate in the church for donations.

Festive refreshments will be served.
