There’s light-hearted fun in store for the Scarborough Spa Orchestra’s audience with a 100th birthday musical quiz.
The programme will consist of popular and well-known tunes - mixed in with a few teasers - but the printed programme will only give the names of the composers.
The audience will then be invited to “name that tune” and take the initial letter of each one to create an appropriate and relevant phrase in this centenary year of the orchestra. Of course, the letters will all be jumbled, so anagram skills will come into play as well.
Following the checking of the answers, there’ll be a couple of surprises which will only be revealed on the night.
For those who don’t want to take part in the quiz, they can just sit back and enjoy an evening of the very best in light music. The concert is at the Spa on Thursday at 7.45pm.
Thursday July 12th sees the return of singers Michelle Todd and Tom Solomon. Between them they have starred in several major shows in the West End such as Follies, Sound of Music and Chicago.
