Riders are looking to drive up public support this weekend to help a Scarborough woman get her feet back on the ground.
Eastfield Scooter Club members, pictured, will be on hand at the Spa’s Vintage Fair, from 10am-5pm, this Saturday, to raise funds for new prosthetic toes to enable Charlotte Hawkins to walk again.
The group is asking visitors to donate money to help towards the £12,000 needed for Charlotte, who has the rare immune condition lupus and had to have both sets of toes amputated.
Her step-father Rob Jesse, chairman of the local scooter club, will joined by other riders outside the venue with their vintage vehicles.
Club member Jeff Reeves will also have his award -winning Vespa on display, next to the hair and beauty salon in the Grand Hall. Visitors are welcome to pose on the bike for a donation.
Lindy-Hop dance duo Julian and Sian Mantovani will be running workshops in the day. Fashion shows, a vintage bus tour, hairdressing and beauty salon, tea rooms and live entertainments will also feature at the fair.
