Glam-rock band The Darkness are set to perform a one-off Yorkshire seaside gig as part of a worldwide tour.
The group, whose famous hits include ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’ and Christmas Time (Don’t Let the Bells End’), will take to the stage at Scarborough Spa on Monday June 3.
Fresh from several months on the road with Lady Gaga in 2012, the group are now touring the world and have dates scheduled in Australia and New Zealand before the four-piece perform in Scarborough.
The announcement comes at the Spa unveils its packed summer season.
It kicks off on May 15 with Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra with guest vocalists Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall.
The Straits, as well as a host of names from ITV’s Dancing On Ice, including Beth Tweddle, Matt Lapinskas and Gareth Thomas, who will appear in ‘Celebrities on Ice’ on May 31.
Comedy shows also appear on the line-up, with performances scheduled from Jimmy Carr and Jason Manford.
Scarborough Jazz Festival and a number of performances from the Spa’s own orchestra are also set to take place.

“To see such a packed line-up is great for both the venue and the town itself, as it means we are able to offer entertainment to audiences of all tastes.”
