YMCA Productions are once again getting ready to kick off the festive season with the annual pre-Christmas show – and a special guest.
A Christmas Cracker 2013 is on at the YMCA Theatre in Scarborough and involves a cast of more than 150 local people, with an age range of eight years to adults.
“we are thrilled to welcome back a very popular and well-known member of the YMCA - Danny Rhodes,” said Graham Ibbotson, theatre manager.
“Danny found fame on ITV’s Grease is The Word after reaching the semi-finals of this TV talent show. He has just finished a world cruise performing on The MS Prinsendam, and has agreed to show off his singing talents once again where it all began,” he said.
Groups based at the YMCA, including Rowlies Academy of Dance, Yorkshire Coast School of Ballet, Variety School of Dancing and Y-Musical Theatre School are also taking part,
“We will also be showcasing some great local adult singers including Michael O’Brien, Carly Zoeller, Lisa Smith, Mellissa Jones, Rebecca Boag, Gillian Marshall, James Aconley,(who is appearing on Friday only) and Jane Daniel,” said Graham.
“Add to this mix our illusion team, Quick Silver and the Winter Wolves; and you have one great Variety Show.”
The Clasen Singing group will be entertaining the audience pre-show and during the interval.
Performances are on Friday November 29 and Saturday November 30 at 7,30pm and Sunday December 1 at 2pm.
