Exhibition at theatre

AN EXHIBITION celebrating 90 years of the Futurist is now being displayed in the venue’s Circle Bar.

With a mix of cuttings, pictures and programmes, the display charts the history of the Scarborough seafront theatre and the stars who have graced its stage.

It is a slightly reduced version of the display that was previously housed at Scarborough Library in Vernon Road until June 30 and features archive material from the Scarborough Evening News, the library and items loaned by former employees.

Starting from its opening in the early 1900s, the exhibition charts the theatre’s sometimes turbulent history, its on-going fight to stay open, and the acts which have played to full houses.
