Hatton School of Performing Arts is staging the hit musical The Producers at the St Thomas Street theatre.
The senior musical theatre class has been fine tuning comedic skills to perform Mel Brooks classic.
Some of the comedy is aimed more at adults and may be unsuitable for younger children. Showstopper tunes include Spring Time for Hitler, I Wanna Be A Producer and We Can Do It
The Producers’ tells the story of an unlikely friendship between Broadway producer Max Bialystock whose career has taken a nose-dive and his timid accountant Leo Bloom. They accidentally discover that through some ‘creative accounting’ you could make more money from a show that flopped than from a show that was a hit.
They then set out on a mission to find the worst play ever written, the worst director and worst cast in town to ensure their sure fire flop, get rich and go to Rio! But will they survive threats from their psychotic playwright, distractions from their tall, blonde, Swedish receptionist, patriotic pigeons and a horde of feisty little old ladies?
Will Max and Leo make it to Rio or end up in jail?
Join the cast from tomorrow until.
Performance times: Friday November 13 and Saturday November 14 at 7.30pm. Sunday November 15 at 2pm.
Tickets are available on 01723 506750.
