New dates for artists' showcase on East Coast
The ArtWaves festival - a huge showcase for professional and amateur artists on the East Coast - has been rearranged for next year.
The event will now take take place at Bridlington Spa on March 6 and 7 with the fringe events being held across the week starting on March 1.
The festival programme is brimming with creativity and an eclectic mix of artists to provide workshops and demonstrations, showcase wondrous installations and take visitors on magical pop up parades across the promenade with new partners, Hull Carnival Arts.
Attendees can also expect to see the annual favourite Art Market, Open Exhibition and ArtWaves Paint Out making a return, as well as new exciting elements such as a photography walkabout workshop, urban sketching day and the inclusion of Hull Beats Bus leading the Urban Twist element with dance, music and art.
ArtWaves festival director, Lauren Frost said : "It was with great disappointment we had to make the decision to postpone the event but it was a necessary one, and we are extremely excited to be returning next year to fill Bridlington with culture and vibrancy.
"Our hope is that we can engage as much of the community as possible to bring some colour to the East Yorkshire coast and celebrate creativity, whilst helping to strengthen tourism by encouraging more visitors to the seaside.’
Revised workshop booking slots are set to be released in the coming weeks with the full festival programme being unveiled in the early autumn.
All information on the opportunities to get involved will be updated on the festival website artwaves.co.uk and via the festival’s social media platforms.
