Harry Potter tops list of North Yorkshire's most popular lockdown reads

North Yorkshire’s bookworms have come out of the woodwork with 60,000 titles downloaded during lockdown

New data from the libraries in North Yorkshire has revealed the most downloaded e-book in the period of March 1 to May 30 is Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, racking up 252 downloads of the audiobook version. Coming in second was Blue Moon, the 24th book in the thrilling Jack Reacher series with 177 checkouts and the third most downloaded was chick lit flick My One True North with 131 checkouts. Also appearing in the top 20 was Twas The Nightshift Before Christmas, a tale of life as an NHS doctor and sequel to This Is Going To Hurt at number five, The Mirror and The Light at spot six and Normal People, the weepy romance recently adapted into an hit BBC series, at seven.
