Ballet makes a welcome return to Scarborough Spa next year

They are set to perform Swan Lake alongside an orchestra of 30 musicians on October 13, 2021.

Alexej Ignatow, director Russian State Ballet & Opera House, is delighted to be returning to Scarborough after a difficult year. He said: “It has been very hard and frustrating times for us all at Russian State Ballet & Opera House.

“We have been working hard to find solutions and keep hopes alive of our upcoming tours happening, however, we have now made the decision to move all our ballets and operas to Autumn 2021 and Spring 2022.

“We are already looking forward to performing again for you in Scarborough, even if it does seem so far away. For now, please stay healthy and support your local theatre!”

The spellbinding, lavish, full-production touring ballet will feature members of The Mariinsky State Ballet Theatre from central Russia.
