DIY giant B&Q opens 61 of its stores - state of play at Scarborough and Bridlington

B&Q has reopened dozens of UK stores as lockdown measures remain in place but branches in Scarborough and Bridlington are still only operating a click-and-collect service.

On-line visits are also limited. The Scarborough website reads: We are using a queue to limit the number of customers using the website at the same time. When it's your turn, you will have 10 minutes to start your visit. Once on the site, you'll have as long as you need.

After a trial period, 61 shops, including those in Hull, Leeds and York have been allowed to reopen.

The DIY group said it has brought in "social distancing controls", such as capping the number of customers in-store.

However, services such as kitchen and bathroom design, paint mixing, timber cutting and key cutting are not available for the time being.

The stores are excepting card, gift card and contact-less payments only.
