The Hideout in Columbus Ravine will reopen for takeaway hot and cold drinks, snacks and cakes from June Monday June 22 following the easing of lockdown restrictions.

Ironically, it will reopen almost a year to the day since it opened originally as The Hideout having previously been the Coffee Beans café.

Hideout manager Jordan Padgham said: “We can’t wait to reopen and welcome customers old and new back to the Hideout – it has been awful not seeing them every day.

“This has been a challenging few weeks and I pay tribute to all the key workers for their amazing efforts in keeping everyone safe.

“We will be open from June 22 for takeaways and then hope to welcome everyone back inside their favourite Hideout, as soon as possible.”

During lockdown the café has had a new kitchen built and other improvement work carried out.

Mr Padgham said long-term the hope was to restore the upper floor of the building to how it used to be and add more café space.

The café has been closed since the Covid-19 lockdown, but all staff have been retained and can’t wait to reopen.
