Countdown to the Scarborough News Excellence in Business Awards

The prestigious event will take place tomorrow evening in the Grand Hall at Scarborough Spa.

The renamed Excellence in Business Awards will showcase the best firms and employees along the Yorkshire Coast and into Ryedale.

As in previous years the main sponsor of the event is McCain Foods and the compere is BBC Look North's Harry Gration.

The categories for the awards evening are: The Frank McMahon Memorial Apprentice of the Year, Bridlington and East Yorkshire Business of the Year, Best Leisure or Retail Business, Company CSR, New Business of the Year, Large Business of the Year, SME Business of the Year, Employer of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Sustainable Business, Overall Business of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The shortlisted businesses are: Burlington Care Ltd, Mummy Meag'z Vegan Kitchen, Escape Room Scarborough, Furbellow and Co, Cura Financial Services, CRAMS by Genilogic Ltd, Roots of Yggdrasil CIC, The Village, Saint Cecilia's Care Group, Parkol Marine Engineering, Askew Brook Ltd, Town and Country Care (Whitby) Ltd, Flamingo Land.

The shortlisted apprentices are Benny Davis of Hawkes Health and Adele Robinson of West Ayton Surgery and Olivia Hall of Yorkshire Coast Football Academy.
