Filey Fields housing development new name gives a nod to its past
The scheme is being developed by Housing 21 in partnership with Scarborough Borough Council and North Yorkshire County Council. It will provide one and two-bedroomed apartments for people over the age of 55. The Extra Care development will also offer a 24-hour on-site care team, a café/bistro, hair salon and communal lounge.
Cllr Carl Maw, Scarborough Borough Council cabinet member for stronger communities and housing, said: “We are pleased that the name for the new scheme is reflective of the locality and its past. We are also pleased to see the progress with the building of the new scheme."

“It is also great to be able to continue to make progress on this scheme as the impact it will have on the community upon opening is certainly beyond measure.”
The Extra Care development is set for completion in May. The first residents are expected to move into their new homes a month later.
