Furniture Works, Scarborough’s newest furniture store, has just had a new shop front installed and has launched a digital e-commerce website to help shoppers source beautifully renovated items during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Furniture Works, Scarborough’s newest furniture store, has just had a new shop front installed and has launched a digital e-commerce website to help shoppers source beautifully renovated items during the Covid-19 pandemic.

These developments are the latest ventures from Futureworks NY, partner organisation to the furniture outlet on St Thomas Street.

Furniture Works includes a fully operational workshop and retail premises for the sale of pre-owned furniture which has been skilfully restored and upcycled by the organisation’s team.

Co-founder Michelle Padron-Kitching said: “We had a soft launch in September 2020. However, our shop front has now been renovated and our brilliant new website has been launched.”

The community Interest company was founded in 2012 and helps local learners from school age upwards, enabling them to acquire life skills, confidence, practical skills and some qualifications in an environment that suits their individual requirements.

The team’s services also include bespoke upcycling of a customer’s beloved furniture items.
