Mr Hollinrake said: “The government’s top priority has always been to support people, protect jobs and businesses through this crisis and the furlough and self-employed schemes have been a lifeline for thousands of people and businesses across the area.

“I am delighted to have been able to help constituents take advantage of these schemes and also to help thousands of businesses across the country access the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme and Bounce Back Loan schemes by campaigning to make them easier and quicker to apply.

“This support will have made a huge difference to employers and employees across the constituency but we now need, social distancing allowing, to get back to work to kick-start the economy to safeguard livelihoods in the months and years ahead.”
