North Yorkshire family firm expands range at food festival with new Tartare Sauce

A family farming business in Thixendale has increased its range of rapeseed oil based products with the launch of a new mayonnaise.

Launched at York Feed Festival recently, Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil’s new Tartare Sauce is made from rapeseed oil that was recently awarded two stars at the Great Taste Awards, combined with gherkins, pickled onions and capers.

The latest addition to the 24-strong range of Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil products was developed by Jason Thompson.

He said: “2020 has been a very challenging year for small businesses like ours and the temptation might have been not to invest in new products, but to wait and see how things develop. We decided to forge ahead with our new product development programme to give our customers something new, different and delicious.”

Tartare Sauce is one of Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil’s range of mayonnaise that includes garlic, mustard, lemon, oak smoked and original varieties.
