Drivers cut free from vehicles in Whitby and Hunmanby

Fire crews rescued one driver who had become trapped following a crash yesterday morning on Guisborough Road near Whitby.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting gear and small tools to release the driver who was taken to hospital by an ambulance.

At around 3pm crews were called to a lorry which had crashed into a tree on Malton Road, Hunmanby, trapping the driver behind the steering wheel.

Hydraulic cutting equipment was used to free the driver who was handed over to paramedics.
