Alliance selected to run prestigious teacher scheme

Scarborough Teaching Alliance (STA) has been announced as one of only 11 providers to support the delivery of the Chartered Teacher Programme.

The programme, led by the Chartered College of Teaching, the professional body for teaching, celebrates the excellent teaching and practice occurring in classrooms every single day.

As a provider, STA will play a crucial role in working with teachers across North Yorkshire and the North East to achieve Chartered Teacher Status with the launch of the next cohort in April.

This includes supporting teachers with training opportunities and highly-skilled mentors.

The alliance is led by Scalby Secondary School and Childhaven Community Nursery School.

Emma-Jane Birley, STA’s manager said: “We are delighted to be working with the Chartered College of Teaching to bring the prestigious Chartered Teacher Programme to our area.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for staff from across our region to access high quality CPD locally.
