The Scarborough Teaching Alliance is led by Scalby Secondary School and Childhaven Community Nursery School.

The programme, led by the Chartered College of Teaching, the professional body for teaching, celebrates the excellent teaching and practice occurring in classrooms every single day.

As a provider, STA will play a crucial role in working with teachers across North Yorkshire and the North East to achieve Chartered Teacher Status with the launch of the next cohort in April.

This includes supporting teachers with training opportunities and highly-skilled mentors.

The alliance is led by Scalby Secondary School and Childhaven Community Nursery School.

Emma-Jane Birley, STA’s manager said: “We are delighted to be working with the Chartered College of Teaching to bring the prestigious Chartered Teacher Programme to our area.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for staff from across our region to access high quality CPD locally.

“We are really excited to begin our first cohort and help to raise the status of teachers and the important role they play.”

The prestigious Chartered Teacher Programme recognises an individual’s excellent knowledge and practice as a teacher along with a commitment to professional growth.
