“Our year 13s have risen to the challenges these unprecedented times have brought.

“They have dealt with the uncertainty with an exceptional level of maturity which means they all have a positive destination for their next step, whether it be university, apprenticeship or employment.

“Some have had to change their plans as companies have withdrawn their employment or apprenticeship offers but, in true Bridlington School style, our students have dealt with these setbacks and found alternatives with a level of empathy and understanding that has really impressed us.

“Others have used the time in ‘lockdown’ to rethink their plans and explore alternatives. Molly, our outgoing head girl has deferred her university place for nursing to apply for nursing in the RAF.

“Keane, our head boy is seeking temporary employment or work experience before embarking on his volunteering year teaching in Ghana which has been pushed back to 2021 before going on to teacher training at university.

“We are so proud that 75% of our students achieved an A grade which is an amazing achievement.

“A special congratulations to Archie Lambert who achieved an A* in Mathematics, A* in Psychology and a Distinction* in Law – it is not possible to achieve higher grades. A huge success too for Ebony Bruce leaving us with 3 grade As in Textiles, Geography and Psychology.

“The effort every one of our year 13s has put in to get to where they are is a credit to them. They should all be very proud of what they have achieved, we certainly are.

“Our sixth form continues to be a popular choice for many of our own Year 11 students, as well as students from other schools.”
