IN PICTURES: Scarborough students celebrate A-Level and other exam successes

Students at Scarborough Sixth Form College and the UTC collected their exam results today, including A-Levels, with some happy faces ... and some not so happy.

Thomas West and Nathan Colby at the UTC. Thomas is off to Newcastle University, and said: "I have gained a huge confidence boost in my skills and abilities. I have learnt how to relate to businesses and how the working world operates."

Scarborough's UTC: Hana Hinton and Alex Hill. Hana said: "I have had lots of great opportunities here that I would not have had elsewhere." Alex is heading to Bristol University and said: I have done lots of cool projects and trips and learnt a great deal."

Scarborough Football Scholarship students achieved 100% pass rate across the board in their sport BTEC exams, with 95% achieving their expected grade or higher. Lead tutor Steve Brennan said: We are really proud of the students and their work. Every student that applied for university has been accepted, which is amazing news for them."
At Scarborough's UTC, Vice Principal Rachel Fearnehough is pictured with Jason Romano, Elliott White and Nathan Cusick. Elliott said: "I have gained lots from the opportunities, especially through work experience at GCHQ and the Cyber First Programme."
