The headteacher at Ebor Academy Filey, Terry Cartmail, said: “After such a strange year, it was fantastic to be able to welcome back our Year 11 students for their ‘socially distanced’ results day today.

“After five months of lockdown, we have spent the morning celebrating with them as they collected their GCSE results.

“We are incredibly proud of everything that they have achieved in their time with us – their five years of hard work has certainly paid off.

“We are also equally proud of how our students and their families have risen to the recent challenges and shown real integrity and resilience during this incredibly difficult time.

“We hope they never forget how fantastic we think they are.

“We know that they will go on to have fabulous futures and wish them every happiness. Congratulations everyone!”
