Scarborough TEC offers new Higher Education courses for 2021
There are many decisions to make when considering where to study for a Higher Education course.
Should you move away from home? Would you be better choosing a Foundation Degree or maybe a Higher National Certificate or Diploma?
From September 2021 Scarborough TEC will be offering a new range of Higher Education programmes that are designed to increase your skills and prepare you for a new world of work; where digital and technical skills will play an important part as our economy recovers from the Covid-19 Pandemic.
There has never been a better time to turn the digital revolution into a rewarding career and the new Yorkshire & Humber Institute of Technology (IoT) at Scarborough TEC. This impressive new development sees incredible new facilities that include an IT Gaming Studio, Digital Arts Lab, Cyber IT Lab, Electronics Lab and a multi-use IT suite.
Scarborough TEC not only offers specialist training facilities, they’re also dedicated to academic study with bright, welcoming study spaces and friendly, knowledgeable staff who are prepared to pass on their industry experience to future professionals; no matter what career path they are considering.
Yorkshire & Humber IoT courses include Level 3 qualifications in Computing and Games Design but the main focus is on the Higher Education programmes. From September 2021 you will be able to study a range of courses that are planned to include:
- FdSc Computer Software Solutions
- HNC Computing (Security)
- HNC Creative Media Production (Game Development)
- HNC Engineering
There are also plans for the College to offer Higher Education programmes in Criminological Studies, Media Make-Up and Community Care & Practice, with further details to be announced soon.

For those thinking of moving away from home, the impressive Cayley Halls, located on the Filey Road Campus, offers almost 200 single bedrooms with ensuite facilities, access to a kitchen on each floor, washing, drying and ironing facilities and a TV lounge.
The campus is within walking distance to the sights and sounds of the main town of Scarborough and the beauty of the North Yorkshire Coast with the North and South Bays of Scarborough.
