There are specialist training facilities

Scarborough TEC not only offers specialist training facilities, the college is also dedicated to academic study with bright, welcoming classrooms and friendly, knowledgeable staff who are prepared to pass on their industry experience to future professionals; no matter what career path they are considering.

Crime, creative and education

The college has introduced new academic career paths; a Creative Academy, Crime & Society Academy and Teaching Academy; each offering a bespoke suite of A Level study that will enhance your career and university prospects with options including A Level English, Psychology, Sociology, Classics, Art History and a Level 3 qualification in Criminology.

Staff pass on their industry experience

Students at Scarborough TEC have the opportunity to train in facilities that include the brand new Automotive, Construction and Engineering Centre, that was part-funded with a £3.345m Skills Capital grant from the Government’s Local Growth Fund secured through the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership.

Their on-campus facilities include IMAGE - Hair and Beauty Salons, Nineteen09 Restaurant, the 120-seat theatre or realistic working environments for Early Years, Health and Social Care, Music and Art & Design.

There has never been a better time to turn the digital revolution into a rewarding career and the new Yorkshire & Humber Institute of Technology (IoT) at Scarborough TEC has seen the development of incredible new facilities that include an IT Gaming Studio, Digital Arts Lab, Cyber IT Lab, Electronics Lab and a multi-use IT suite!

Yorkshire & Humber Institute of Technology courses available include a Level 3 qualification in Computing or Games Design and a range of Higher Education course that include;

- FdSc Computer Software Solutions

- HND Computing (Security)

- HND Creative Media Production (Games Development)

- HNC Engineering

Studying for a Higher Education qualification at Scarborough TEC means you won’t have to go far to go a long way. With everything you need right on your doorstep and access to latest technology in impressive new facilities.

From September 2021, you will be able to study for a T Level in Education & Childcare. T Levels are a new technical qualification, equivalent to 3 A Levels, and have been developed by the Government in collaboration with employers and businesses to help students develop the necessary practical skills through a combination of study and work experience to fully prepare young people for the world of work, further study or training.
