Fund set up to buy trophy in memory of Scarborough RUFC coach Ian Evans

A GoFundMe page set up to purchase a memorial trophy dedicated to a much-loved rugby coach has smashed its target of £250.

The family of Scarborough RUFC coach Ian Evans, who tragically passed away recently, hoped to raise £250 to hand out a trophy in his memory every year.

That target has been smashed and has already passed the £1,500 mark.

“In memory of Ian Evans, his family would like to set up the Ian Evans Memorial Trophy at Scarborough Rugby Club,” reads the description on the GoFundMe page.

“We hope it will be presented at the end of each season to a rugby player from any age group who has overcome adversity.”
