Covid infection rate for Scarborough borough continues to fall; mobile testing in Filey today

Scarborough’s coronavirus infection rate continues to fall after 46 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours.

The borough’s infection rate per 100,000 population on a seven-day average now stands at 411 as of November 16, having reached more than 600 last week.

Yesterday, the rate was 457.

Scarborough’s rate remains ahead of every other North Yorkshire district and also the average for England, which is 255, but it has been falling steadily over the last week.

The borough’s overall total number of cases since the start of the pandemic is now 2.565.

Mobile testing facility will be at Filey Country Park in Filey today for anyone with symptoms to be tested.

Scarborough’s walk-in testing site at the William Street Coach Park is also open seven days a week from 8am until 8pm.
