Filey fish and chip restaurant and takeaway closes due to coronavirus

Inghams Fish and Chip Restaurant, on Belle Vue Street, announced it was closing on Saturday morning because a member of staff had been in contact with someone who has tested positive for the disease.

The restaurant and takeaway are both closed. The owners posted on social media: "A member of staff has been in contact with someone who has had a positive test (no symptoms).

"We are closing until all staff members have been tested."

The restaurant said it was doing a deep clean today and tomorrow "and should be able to open Monday".

It said it was not required to close but did so as a precautionary measure, and added that the staff member was self isolating for 14 days and that the contact was made on Tuesday.
