Linda Cheetham from Scarborough has worked as a housekeeper at Cross Lane Hospital for 32 years and lives with her daughter, son-in-law and two young grandchildren.
She said: “I moved into a hotel as I was worried I might pass on the coronavirus to my family.
“Although it was upsetting to leave home, my family delivered treat packages to the hotel that made me happy.”
Linda was welcomed home to a decorated house, a presentation of flowers, chocolates and an extra loud ‘Clap for Carers’ by her family, colleagues and neighbours.

Lynda Draper, facilities site manager for TEWV said: “Linda is a dedicated, loyal member of staff who has a smile for everyone.”
Karen Ashby, Rowan Lea ward manager added: “Linda has always put patients at the forefront of her work.
“She made certain that snacks and drinks were available to both patients and staff.
“Nothing was too much trouble and she motivated everyone during demanding and worrying times. I don’t know what the ward would have done without her.”
