New case of Covid-19 is recorded in borough of Scarborough

A new case of Covid-19 has been recorded in the borough of Scarborough, the government has revealed.

The test was confirmed on Saturday but has only been added to the borough’s figures this afternoon.

It is the first confirmed infection in the borough since July 29.

The data includes tests carried out in hospitals and also Pillar 2 tests, which is anyone tested at one of the mobile sites in the borough or sent a test to take at home.

Before July 29, the last previous confirmed case in Scarborough was on July 3.

The total number of confirmed cases in Scarborough since the start of the pandemic now stands at 563.

The number of deaths involving Covid-19 in the borough remains at 72 according to the Government data.
