The latest ONS data shows the number of deaths and the percentage of deaths caused by Covid-19, which were registered between March 2020 and February 2021. Every death is tragic and the latest figures come as the country will mark the one-year anniversary of the start of the first lockdown with a Day of Reflection on Tuesday March 23. There will be a minute's silence at 12:00 GMT with people encouraged to light up their doorsteps that night.

The latest figures from the Government's Office of National Statistics (ONS) show the areas in and around Scarborough and Whitby which were hardest hit by Covid-19, almost a year since the first lockdown began.
