Whitby party-goers fined after breaking Covid lockdown rules
Party-goers in Whitby were slapped with fines for breaking lockdown rules on Saturday night.
Police in the town said they were called to a gathering and issued six coronavirus fixed penalty notices.
Whitby Town Police posted on social media: "Enforcement will be taken when these gatherings happen."
Last weekend, Scarborough Police revealed they were called to several house parties, indoor gatherings and barbecues, all with people attending from several different households.
At one party, 11 fixed penalty notices were handed out and at another, a woman was charged with assaulting an emergency service worker during the police's attempts to disperse guests.
