East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s programme of Health Walks has been re-launched in line with government guidelines to encourage people to get out and about and enjoy the natural beauty of the area, whilst staying fit and healthy.
Two Bridlington-based walks are featured in the programme, including the popular hour-long Mile Marker Walks on Thursdays at 10am from East Riding Leisure Bridlington (meet in the cafe) and a 30-minute walk from the Kingfisher Cafe on West Street every Wednesday at 10.30am.
Walks are short and over easy terrain and are open to everyone, but are especially aimed at those who are least active.
Councillor Kerri Harold, portfolio holder for Public Health and Tackling Inequalities, said: “Walking really is one of the most perfect forms of exercise there is – physically, it tones your body, strengthens your muscles and keeps your heart healthy.
