The total of £13,349 is an incredible achievement and will be put to good use looking after our patients and loved ones, both in the hospice and at home.

You will also have helped raise awareness of Saint Catherine's and its services during the campaign, which is truly appreciated.

To provide all of our specialist services, we need to raise around £11,000 a day, so the money you and your readers have raised will make a real difference, especially at this difficult time.

I would also like to thank you for your ongoing support in covering our day-to-day news and events throughout the year, both in print and on your website.

We know that many of our supporters read The Scarborough News, Whitby Gazette and Bridlington Free Press as their first port of call to find out what is happening locally.

On behalf of everyone at Saint Catherine's, thank you for your wonderful support - and thank you to all of your readers who kindly donated to the campaign.
