OSGODBY’S In Bloom Group has been dealt a blow as shrubs were stolen from a plant bed just days before the judges arrive.
In Bloom judges are set to score the village when they visit tomorrow.
However, just days before the judging the In Bloom Group has discovered five shrubs, including the centre piece, have been stolen from the raised bed at the top of Osgodby Hill.
Lynn King, secretary of the Osgodby In Bloom Group, said: “The whole thing is a real downer for us.
“We have been working extra hard over the last couple of weeks to get everything up and running for the judges coming, then this sort of thing happens.
“It’s not very often something like this happens in Osgodby, and the timing couldn’t have been much worse”.
The vandalism was discovered yesterday morning by members of the group.
Last year Cayton’s flower beds were targeted as flowers were killed by poison in the run-up to the In Bloom judging.
