SCARBOROUGH residents with “specs appeal” are being invited to enter a national modelling competition.

The Specsavers’ annual Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition is giving entrants the chance of winning a modelling contract with MOT Models.

The overall winner will also scoop a fortnight in Barbados or St Lucia, courtesy of Almond Resorts and Virgin Holidays and a makeover with TV celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton, there is still a lot at stake.

Alasdair Corbett, store director at Specsavers in Scarborough, says: “The Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition gives us the opportunity to shout about the talent right on our doorstep who wear their specs with pride and plenty of style – and who are great role models for younger specs wearers to aspire to.”
